Tours

All registered SHARP Dublin 2012 participants are invited to consider the following options of tours and excursions taking place during or after the conference.

Tuesday 26 June

Dublin City Library and Archive: Delegates are invited to visit Dublin City Library and Archive in Pearse Street, just a short stroll from Trinity College. The library is open from 10.00am to 8.00pm. Admission: Free. For further information see here.

Wednesday 27 June

Marsh’s Library: Delegates are invited to visit Marsh’s Library on St. Patrick’s Close, beside St. Patrick’s Cathedral. The Library is open  between 9.30am-1pm and 2pm-5pm. Admission: €2.50 per person. For further information see www.marshlibrary.ie

Edward Worth Library: Delegates are invited to visit the Edward Worth Library, the very fine collection of a Dublin physician and a connoisseur book collector of fine printings and bookbindings. The Library is open between 10.00am-1.00pm and 2.00pm-4.30pm. The Worth Library is easily accessible via the Luas Red Line. It is located in Dr Steevens’ Hospital which is directly opposite Heuston Railway Station. Admission: Free. For further information see www.edwardworthlibrary.ie

Dublin Literary Pub Crawl: Delegates are invited to take the Dublin Literary Pub Crawl, “the most ingenious crash course in Irish literature, history, architecture and pub bonhomie yet devised” on Wednesday 27th June. Meet outside the Trinity Long Room Hub Building, 7.45pm. Price: €13 per person.

Thursday 28 June

National Library of Ireland: Delegates are invited to attend a private tour of the Yeats: The Life and Work of William Butler Yeats in the National Library of Ireland on Thursday 28th June, 11am. Meet in the Foyer of the National Library of Ireland, Kildare Street. Admission: Free.
